The Farmhouse at Little Washington is the home of Little Washington Winery, Skyline-Brewing and Dirt Road Wine Academy! We are an Agritourism Affinity Destination. The farm spans 55 acres right in the sweet spot of Virginia Wine Country, on the sunrise side of the Blue Ridge Mountains at the base of Shenandoah National Park. Our porches, decks and indoor spaces are perfect for whiling away an afternoon!
Little Washington WINes
Little Washington Winery is named Best Tasting Room and Best Winery over all in Virginia. We produce estate wines from Chardonnay, Vignole, Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Arandell and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. We’re most known for our two totally opposite Chardonnays, our Viognier named best Viognier in Virginia, and “George” our Meritage Masterpiece named the #1 red wine in Virginia.
THE DIRT ROAD WINE ACADEMY
Little Washington Winery is renowned for its Dirt Road Wine Academy and Foodie-U Wine School. Fun & Educational classes offer the opportunity to deepen your understanding and appreciation of wine. The Dirt Road Wine Academy emphasizes a hands-on, experiential approach to learning about wine, incorporating wine-making workshops, food & wine pairing classes and regional tastings. Expand your knowledge and passion for wine in a casual setting! Our winemakers and somms teach 24 different seated wine pairing classes!
This working farm produces wine and beer from dry farm vineyards and hops crops. We also grow peach, apple and pear orchards, fiddlehead ferns, mushrooms, wild blackberries and wine berries, vegetable gardens, a pumpkin patch, a mum plantation, a sunflower garden and wild persimmon trees. Pick-Your-Own fun happens throughout the growing season. As harvests happen fresh produce comes into our farm store.
Skyline-Brewing Craft Beer
Little Washington Brewery (aka Skyline-Brewing) We love NANO Brew! Nano is the key to truly distinctive craft beer. With a maximum capacity of 35 gallons per batch, the glory of the nano brew style is every brew day is a totally new craft beer experiment. We can throw all sorts of wacky stuff in the kettle and see what comes out! If it’s good, we keep fine-tuning it. If not, it goes down the drain to guarantee magnificent suds!
